Barbecue Marinade

1/2 c Onion; chopped
1 1/2 tb Sugar, brown; packed
1 tb Oil, vegetable
1/3 c Vinegar, cider
1/3 c Catsup
1 tb Horseradish, prepared
1 tb Water
1/4 ts Black pepper, coarse grind

Cook onion and brown sugar in oil in small saucepan over medium heat until onion is tender, about 3 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and continue cooking over medium heat 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; cool thoroughly before adding to beef. Makes about 3/4 cup.
